the thing is, you'll just have to persevere. you're doing everything right but some children are unfortunately just that bit more difficult! you don't need to let her 'cry it out for a little while' you need to let her cry it out till she gets the message. i know it's noisy but continuing to pander to her will only reinforce her opinion that she should be held 24 hours a day. all babies get clingy but she needs to learn that there are other things that need to be done and she can't be held all the time. it will get easier, but it's a bit of a slog i'm afraid. as for the feeding, maybe she dislikes the formula? perhaps a different one could be tried. try talking to the doctor for some suggestions.
