Is my betta going to be alright? please help scared to death!?

ok i have a 2.5 gal and im afraid of turning the filter on since, since it makes alot of current, and well my male HM betta isn't good with current, he is a halfmoon, so when i turned on the filter a 10 minutes ago i watched and saw that my bfetta was tossed around! i thought he would get out of it and went down to feed my female betta, corys, and tetras in the 10 gallon. when i returned my betta was on the gravel, breathing slowly yet fast, and he was like under a fake pant, no he was thrown no i don't know! he was just laying there in a fake plant, and these aren't silk im wondering whether to take them out and put a melon sword in, and put the fake plants were they melon sword was in the 10 gal. so can anyone tell me if my bettas gonna be alright? i tried to feed him bloodworms but he ignored em and they his favorite food? please help!
